Engine Z16XE - High oil consumption

Complaint:	Customer complain about too high oil consumption.
Cause:	Within the mentioned engine number range some valve stems with too rough surface have been installed. This causes scratches on valve guide and the valve stem sealing resulting an increased engine oil burning.
Production:	Only some engines produced with the following engine number range: 20BF7699 to 20BK7692 (build 05/2003) are affected.

Remedy:

In case of customer complaint carry out first an oil consumption measurement according TIS 2000 to confirm the oil consumption. In case of too high oil consumption replace the cylinder head by using a replacement cylinder head from P&A (partnumber: 93176844 / cataloguenumber: 6 09 076).For Meriva please check for correct length of oil dip stick according TSB 1907.
